Omiš liegt dort, wo der Fluss Cetina durch die Küstenberge in die Adria schneidet, etwa 25 km südlich von Split. Einst eine Piratenhochburg, ist es heute ein entspannter Ausgangspunkt für Strände, Flussabenteuer und Inseltörns.
Es ist ein einfacher Tagesausflug ab Split — nah genug, um in deutlich unter einer Stunde dort zu sein, aber ruhiger und authentischer als die Stadt selbst.
