Private Sailing in Omiš: A Perfect Day Aboard Nana

Private Sailing in Omiš: A Perfect Day Aboard Nana

More Than a Sailing Trip: A Day Aboard Nana in Omiš

There is a moment at sea when everything becomes quiet.

Omiš is somewhere behind you. Brač is on the horizon. The engine is off, the sails are up, and all you can hear is the Adriatic moving gently against the hull.

This is Nana.

Not a crowded excursion boat. Not a timetable of rushed stops. Not a day spent following a group of strangers.

Just a sailing boat, the sea, good food and a small group of people enjoying one of the most beautiful parts of the Croatian coast.

Welcome aboard Sail Omiš Nana.

The Day Begins in Omiš

Our full-day sailing adventure starts in Omiš, where the Cetina River meets the Adriatic Sea.

Leaving the harbour behind, Nana turns toward the island of Brač.

And slowly, the day changes pace.

There is no need to rush.

On Nana, the journey is part of the destination.

When the wind allows, the sails go up and we sail across the Brač Channel — surrounded by open sea, the Dalmatian mountains behind us and the island ahead.

For many of our guests, this simple moment becomes one of their favourite memories from Croatia.

First Stop: Pučišća, Brač

Our journey takes us to Pučišća, one of the most beautiful small towns on Brač.

Built around a sheltered bay and famous for its white Brač stone, Pučišća is a place worth discovering slowly.

Walk along the waterfront.

Have a coffee.

Explore the narrow streets.

Watch local life around the harbour.

There is no guide holding an umbrella and no group waiting for you to get back on a bus.

You have time to enjoy it.

And when you return to Nana, lunch is waiting.

Homemade Food Tastes Better at Sea

Food has always been an important part of the Nana experience.

This isn't a packed sandwich handed out during a boat excursion.

Aboard Nana, we serve a three-course homemade lunch, together with drinks including homemade wine and beer.

It is one of the things guests mention again and again after sailing with us.

Maybe food simply tastes better after a morning at sea.

Or maybe it is because sitting around a table aboard a sailing boat, surrounded by the Adriatic, feels less like being on a tour and more like spending the day with friends.

Either way, nobody seems to be in a hurry to leave the table.

Then We Find a Quiet Bay

After lunch, it is time for one of the best parts of the day.

We leave the village behind and find a peaceful bay along Brač.

Anchor down.

Shoes off.

Jump in.

The Adriatic here can be unbelievably clear.

You can swim, snorkel, try stand-up paddleboarding or simply float in the water with the boat nearby.

Some guests explore every corner of the bay.

Others find a comfortable place aboard Nana, enjoy a cold drink and do absolutely nothing.

Both are perfectly acceptable.

This is your day.

And Then, We Sail

Eventually it is time to point Nana back toward Omiš.

But the adventure isn't over.

If the wind is with us, we raise the sails again.

The boat heels gently.

The coastline moves slowly past.

Sometimes guests take the helm and experience what it feels like to sail Nana themselves.

Sometimes dolphins appear.

Sometimes the sea is completely calm.

And sometimes the sunset looks almost unreal.

We can never promise what the Adriatic will give us that day.

That is part of sailing.

Why Guests Remember Nana

Over the years, people from around the world have joined us aboard Nana.

Families.

Couples.

Groups of friends.

Birthday celebrations.

People sailing for the first time and people who already love the sea.

Reading their reviews, something becomes clear.

People remember the beautiful bays and the sailing, of course.

But they also remember the little things.

The homemade lunch.

The wine and beer.

The conversations.

The jokes.

Learning about Omiš and Brač from people who live here.

Children getting a chance to steer the boat.

Swimming somewhere away from the crowds.

And simply having enough time to enjoy the day.

One family described their day aboard Nana as a "trip of a lifetime."

Another guest called it the highlight of their holiday.

Others say they would happily come back and sail with Nana again.

For us, that is the best review we could receive.

Private Sailing Means the Boat Is Yours

One of the biggest differences between Nana and many boat excursions from Omiš or Split is simple:

Nana is a private experience.

Our full-day trip accommodates a maximum of six guests.

That means you aren't sharing your day with dozens of strangers.

You aren't waiting for a large group.

And you don't have to fight for a place to sit.

It is just your family or friends and our crew aboard the boat.

That creates a completely different atmosphere.

Relaxed.

Personal.

And much closer to what sailing in Dalmatia should feel like.

Is Nana Good for Families?

Absolutely.

Some of our favourite memories involve families sailing with us.

Children can swim, snorkel and paddleboard, and when conditions permit they can discover what it feels like to help sail a real yacht.

For parents, the small private group makes the experience much more relaxed than a large organised boat excursion.

And because every day is spent with only a handful of guests, we can give everyone much more personal attention.

Omiš From a Different Perspective

Omiš is famous for its beaches, mountains, rafting and the Cetina Canyon.

But seeing it from the sea is different.

As Nana approaches Omiš at the end of the afternoon, the mountains rise dramatically behind the town.

After hours surrounded by blue water, it is one of those views that makes you reach for your camera.

Or sometimes just sit quietly and look.

The same harbour where the adventure began appears ahead of us.

And suddenly eight hours have disappeared.

Come Sail With Us

If you are staying in Omiš, Brela, Baška Voda, Makarska, Split or anywhere along the Central Dalmatian coast, spending a day on the Adriatic is one of the experiences we believe should be part of your Croatian holiday.

But don't just see the sea from the beach.

Come out and experience it.

Sail across to Brač.

Walk through Pučišća.

Eat lunch aboard Nana.

Swim in clear water.

Raise the sails.

Take the helm.

And when the afternoon sun begins dropping toward the horizon, enjoy the journey back to Omiš.

Because the best days in Croatia aren't always the ones with the longest itinerary.

Sometimes all you need is a sailing boat, a little wind and nowhere else you need to be.

Welcome aboard Nana.
